Where In The World Are We Traveling This Year? — 2016

Each new place our travels take us, Dan and I pinch ourselves at our good fortune to get to enjoy these unbridled years of adventure and see the world. We were still newlyweds when we moved to London in the summer of 2014 with only eight months of wedded bliss behind us; so we have taken to affectionately calling our time here as “our three-year-Europe honeymoon” and we are determined to make the most of it with every spare moment and dollar we have!

From the moment we arrived in London, my list loving, organized self had already loosely mapped out (pun intended!) our travel plans for the 3 to 4 years that we were going to be living at Europe’s doorstep. During the wet, cold days — of which there are plenty here! — I pore over the dog-eared pages of my travel magazines, Pinterest, travel blogs, and city guide books from the local library for ideas on place and things to see and do.

This year we are venturing into some new parts of Europe for us with a Baltic cruise, an outdoor Iceland adventure, some long weekends in Eastern Europe, and Greek island hopping. Also on the list? A trip back home to California for Danielle to visit with dearly missed family and friends, including meeting a brand-new niece or nephew. And of course continuing to explore more of the UK and putting our camping gear to use!

  1. Danielle! so many similarities! we moved to Europe (Brussels) just four months after marriage and called it our two year honeymoon and now California to London, just like you guys!

  2. Ooh, I confess I’m envious of all your proposed travels! Especially St. Petersburg; there are so many museums there I’m dying to see. Me and my boyfriend are both unemployed at the moment, so it’s hard to plan much, but I’m hoping we can somehow make it out to New Zealand at some point to visit his aunt and uncle, much as I’d dread the flight. I’m sure we can probably take a brief Continental trip or two if nothing else!
